Get to Know Us
Jaenine and Mikaela began working together in elementary education over 10 years ago. Together they bring over two decades of collaborative experience to the table. Having served as classroom teachers, reading specialists, and literacy coaches, they have worked with students as young as three years old. Their extensive background has shaped them into experts in both student and adult learning.
About
Jaenine Cortazar Rodriguez

Jaenine earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Emmanuel College in 2009 and began her teaching career in Lowell, MA, instructing 2nd and 3rd grade. She later served as a reading specialist in Winthrop, MA, supporting students in grades 3–6. Since then, she has spent the last 10 years in Cambridge, MA, as a Literacy Coach. Jaenine holds a Master’s Degree in Reading from Lesley University and an advanced degree (CAGS) in School Administration from Salem State University. In addition, Jaenine has been recognized in her field by being asked to be a guest presenter at the Massachusetts Reading Association Conference, as well as the International Literacy Association Conference.

About
Mikaela Myers

Mikaela began her teaching journey in Cambridge, MA in 2015 as an intern while pursuing her M.Ed. in Elementary Education at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She was hired the following year as a 2nd grade teacher, a role she held until 2021 before transitioning into her current position as a Literacy Interventionist. In 2022, she completed graduate-level coursework at Salem State University to earn her certification as a Specialist Teacher of Reading. Mikaela is licensed in Massachusetts in the following areas:
